Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the services provided?

Our therapists provide services either in the clinic setting or the natural environment including your home, daycare, or community setting. POP therapists are enrolled in the early intervention program, which serves children and their families age 0-3 in the natural setting. Learn more about Illinois Early Intervention Program.

Do you offer free screenings?

We are proud to offer free 15-minute screenings completed by an experienced occupational therapist, speech therapist, or mental health professional. These are a quick glimpse that provide direction, not a full evaluation with a report. All screenings are completed by an experienced occupational therapist, speech therapist, or mental health professional. Please contact info@pop-pediatric.com for more details.

do you accept Insurance?

We are in-network with BCBS PPO and Aetna PPO.

We accept Meridian and BCBS Community medicaid plans.

We are out of network with all other insurances, but are able to bill directly to all insurance providers. We also provide services for self-pay clients.

For more information please reach out to info@pop-pediatric.com

How much will Therapy cost?

A quote of benefits will be provided prior to beginning therapy. We bill directly to your insurance, once claims finalize, we will invoice you monthly for any outstanding balance.

If your child is birth to three years of age they are eligible for Early Intervention, which is a service provided through the state of Illinois. Your insurance may be billed, but ultimately the state will pay if your insurance does not. There may be a family fee for Early Intervention. Learn more about Illinois Early Intervention Program.

How quickly can I get started with services?

Our goal is to get your child evaluated as quickly as possible. Once we receive your inquiry, we will respond within 1-2 business days.

After the initial evaluation, which can take 1-3 sessions to complete, parents meet with the evaluating therapist in a formal face-to-face or zoom meeting to discuss findings. Parents/guardians are presented with a comprehensive and detailed evaluation report. If services are deemed necessary and agreed upon by all parties, therapy services will begin as soon as possible.

How do I decide if individual or group sessions are best for my child?

Each child will undergo an initial evaluation by a licensed and dedicated Physical, Occupational, Mental Health, and/or Speech Therapist. The professional will then make a recommendation of individual and/or group therapy sessions, as well as frequency of visits, in order to best suit each child’s individual and unique needs.

How do I explain therapy to my child for their first visit/evaluation?

POP is set up in a safe and sensory rich environment with two large therapy gyms, smaller rooms for individual work, a messy play/craft room area, multiple group rooms, and kitchen areas. Feel free to show your child pictures of our play space on our website. You can let them know POP is set up like an indoor gymnastics space with swings, slides, and other climbing equipment.

Are parents allowed in for sessions?

Due to covid precautions, our waiting rooms remain closed. We are allowing parents in for the initial visit and ongoing therapy as needed as long as CDC guidelines are followed for covid precautions.

Where do I park and enter for POP services?

Please check with your therapist/intake coordinator about parking and entering. They will share specifics about when and where to arrive for your session.

Does my child need a prescription for services?

A prescription from your child’s pediatrician is required before starting therapy at POP for:

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Physical Therapy

  • Speech Therapy

The script can be faxed directly to 855-529-1595 or uploaded to your Klara account.

How do I complete the paperwork to become a client?

We use Klara, a HIPAA-compliant online platform, for all intake paperwork, insurance verification and scheduling.

You will receive a text message from Klara to your cell phone. Your initial login must be done from your phone using your child’s first and last name and date of birth.

After your initial login, you con complete paperwork on klara.com from any web browser. For security, the Klara site automatically signs you out after 15 minutes of inactivity. Due to this, we recommend preparing all the information needed and finding a time where you will be uninterrupted so the system does not lose your information by signing you out while you are in the middle of completing paperwork.

The following information must be completed on Klara and verified before your child’s first visit:

  • Your child’s completed new client forms

  • Insurance card images (front and back)

  • Credit card authorization form (downloaded, signed, and uploaded)

  • Your child’s prescription (required for occupational, physical, and speech therapies)

Through Klara, you will be connected with your child’s treating therapist to schedule a start date.
